Of politics and Hulu Selangor

*This post is very long and boring. Stop reading if you are not interested in politics*

Hmmm....Hulu Selangor. What's with Hulu Selangor eh? Is there something special happening there?

I'm glad you asked. In fact something really important is happening there for the past week and the events thats happening for the past week will all comes down to this very day. It is the day, where we uphold the spirit of democracy. It is the day where in the spirit of liberty, we proclaim our rights to choose our leader that shape our country.

For those who still don't know what is happening in Hulu Selangor right now, we are having a by-election to elect the new MP for the constituent after the death of its former MP, Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Ahmad of PKR Well, I did overdo the words and exaggerate a bit. It's just a by-election, nothing will change in the parliament accept one more seat will go to either BN or Pakatan Rakyat's camp (or independent). But the point is any by-election is just as important as the General Election. Why? Because, related to what I said above, democracy thrives from the actions of the nation's rakyat. Democracy, without full involvement and spirit of the rakyat, is like a tree without fruit. It doesnt mean anything if a nation screams of its freedom and democracy, but its people are not free and don't exercise their rights.

So its a head to head battle of BN and Pakatan with Kamalanathan VS Zaid Ibrahim. I wanna make it clear that I am not to write about the manifesto or to support any of the candidates, but I just wanna give a layman's opinion of the situation that we are in right now in conjunction to the Hulu Selangor by-election. Just another opinion of mine about modern day Malaysian politics.

1) First of all, I am sick and tired of Malaysian politics. Why? Because its rubbish and full of shit. It stinks and smell like rotten fish. It got so rotten that we need to overhaul the whole system to get it cleaned. The blame is not all to the system, but the blame is all on us. I think that, even after 53 years of merdeka, we are not politically matured enough. The way we define politics is just so wrong. Let me give you an example. If you ask any BN supporter why we have to vote for BN what do you think they will answer? I bet you they will answer like this,
"Come on la. BN da lame memerintah, tgk ape yg BN dah buat kat negara kita. diorang dah maju kan negara kita. ade KLCC, Putrajaya. BN lah yg memperjuangkan nasib rakyat kita terutamanya Melayu. diorang yg berjuang utk kemerdekaan. Tanpa BN, kite akan hancur. ko takkan tak bersyukur dgn ape yg diorang buat. sbg rakyat, kte kene sokong diorang. berterima kasih la tu pun susah sgt"
Did you not see whats wrong? I tell you, thats the most stereotyped answer I would come across. I mean do these people have the slightest idea what they are talking about? They single handedly destroyed the very foundation of democracy that is freedom of choice. What is democracy? It is the freedom to choose any representative I want. and why the hell I have to vote for someone, even if I don't like them and found out very nasty things about them just because their past achievements and success?
"diorang dah tolong ko la bodoh. tak nampak ke. ko skang nih tgh makan duit kerajaan, duduk atas tanah kerajaan, study dkt universiti dgn pertolongan kerajaan blablabla".
Yeah, and I suppose to use that excuse to support that party. That is the lamest excuse I ever heard. What is the function of a government? It is to govern this country from a MANDATE that is given by the rakyat. We the rakyat who elect those people that walks at the corridors of power in the first place. we the rakyat who pays them their wage that feeds their family. They are the ones who are working for us! It is their responsibility to take care the welfare of the nation and its people, and it is my god given right to take what ever this nation offers! and then you tell me that i should be thankful? yes I'm thankful for what I've got and received. But, to use that excuse is just a shame to democracy. And theres a huge different between a government and a political party, you should know it yourself.

If you ever watch the Americans/Britons during their General election over the CNN/BBC, they will never talk something like that. What they will say? they will talk about the economy, healthcare system, foreign relations, immigration policies etc. Their concern is of national interest. They vote not because of the party they pledge, but to the policies that the party represents.(again, I'm saying this in a layman's term from my point of view. from watching CNN/BBC)

2) What a shame to our politics when every now and then, the politicians will raise petty issues to bring shame to the opposite camp. I mean, even in the parliament, where they are suppose to discuss and debate on national agenda also is being used as a boxing ring match between two camps (BN vs Pakatan). Name calling, raising personal issues like; whether to wear a songkok or not; this minister call him a baboon, that minister apply the same concept of a leaking ceiling with women on pms, Babi Negara, etc. all this you can watch it on youtube. just search any parliament debate video and you'll know whats wrong. They are like school children fighting over each other, squabbling. Well in this case of Hulu selangor by-election, its is not surprising that the BN will start the game with calling Zaid Ibrahim an alcoholic cum gambler. Its easy to play with the maly mind and sentiment using these tactics.

I call this bullshit. Whats the point of this? Are'nt this is all personal matter to begin with? Ok2. You dont feel comfortable of Zaid dinking. I also feel disturbed by it as well. but do you not feel disturbed that a whole lot of our own ministers in the name of BN also drinks and gamble and swindle the rakyat's money? a whole lot of them are womanizers too. dont you feel disturbed by that? come on I dont need proof for this. It's widely known already and please dont think that their are the "holier than thou"  type just ask any person who have worked closely with the gomen than they will all say the same thing. so what does make these people in BN camp? arent they a bit hypocritical?

Dah la nk tuduh org, tp pakai gambar superimpose. bloodyhell

I wont be surprise by it actually. because it is known that up till the 80's, social drinking is such a commmon thing among the malays in the elite class. why? because we follow the footsteps of the british thats why. the British pass down this tradition to us and the elites been following this tradition. Not to mention any country's official ceremony, regimental army ceremonies all are with the presence of alcohol.

I mean political tactics have been regarded to be low as this to bring down their opponents. they dont care to bring up national issues, but all they do is to bring shame to their opponents and that is bollocks.

3) What is the benchmark of a candidate to win an election? The answer is how much money you can flush to give away to the rakyat. That simple. just read this article. It is not surprising that Najib will come down to Hulu selangor and tell people something like " Ok the deal is this, I give you RM2000 now and then after we win the election I'll give you RM10000 later. so vote for us!" does that look like bribery to you? It is something that you would not find hard to see in every election. that is the time when the roads at your neighborhood is refurnished, public places will upgrade, etc. but think sir, what have they been doing all this time? why only during the election they do all these things? yes. fishing for votes. that is all they care about. and then after the election, you can kiss that money good bye. People in the by-election constituents are really  lucky to get freebies aren't they?

To wrap this all up, I would say good luck for the BN and Pakatan, may whoever wins can bring something good in the parliament! We dont need puppets to just sit in the seat doing nothing but follow the parties policies. But we want someone who will bring change to the country. Kamalanathan seems like a nice chap i suppose. in the other hand, we have the progressive malay, Zaid Ibrahim. Who would you choose?

Study = Tensen

Hi guys, I'm back again..hoho...It feels like its been awhile already since I last updated my blog. *Tangan gatal nk update tapi apekan daya, tgh finals niiiih!* Serious...dlm draft da ade bnyk gak topic nk tulis *draft la sgt, just topic or article yg rse2 cam nk kupas je*. tapi priority utk study FB tetap no 1 *ehem2*.

As the title shown, I will write about the reality of exam month. The D-day. The Big One. What I will show you will shock you. but I can guarentee you that this is the reality. dont say that "hey, youre the only one who have this kind of symptoms" NO! This is what everyone is experiencing so, headshot kat kepale sendri ok?hoho. This post will be quite long, but I got pics to compliment it with. so read on folks! =D

So I have just finished my 4th paper, now its two more to go. yay! Next exam will be on 17th April as shown below, ergo I got ample time to laze around tonight. Tomorrow stat study!huh!

Yeah, aku mmg sgt la pemalas dan tak creative. tgk board aku da tau kan?hoho saje amik gamba d whole board. tujuan nk tunjuk schedule exam je, tp nmpk tak medal powerman tuh?hoho!

One thing I love about exam season is that you got loads of time to yourself. No other programs to meddle with, no schedule to follow everyday. You only have to concentrate on your exam schedule. Fortunately, my exam schedule is not tight whereby we got gaps for each exams. Untuk org2 last minit study cam aku nih mmg blessing gle lah. Bley concentrate on one subjek after another. But the downside of exam is that, you will experience what we call 'serabutness'. The serabutness is a kind of like a habit you'll get this time around. your need for washing yourself will decline, shaving is unnecessary. sometimes u bathe only once a day before lunch.*some would just not bathe at all considering they don't have to go outside their bedroom*. But the most obvious will be your bedroom.

The pics I took at some random guy's room. Xbley blah selekeh gle mamat nih. Tapi aku dgr die nih cool gle.

Yeah...everything will get messy. you'll get so focused on your studies that you don't even care what your room looks like any more. Your bed will be a place to put all your self made notes, printout and sorts so that you can clear everything on your desk. You'll get sleep deprived anyway, so why bother to tidy it?

Ok what I wanna show next will totally illustrate what you're going through while you are studying. From the very beginning to the very end. and how it ends varies with many people. But I'll show you the worst that could happen.

So here you are..excited, pumped and ready to go into another world. meditate even. into a world of studying. You are focused and ready to absorb all the knowledge you want to prepare for exam. There you go, sit at your desk with your notes all over it.

Now this is how I look like when i got excited to study. learning is fun!

Then, as you go on you tend to forget about the whole world as you are totally consumed by the world of knowledge. Focus is the key they say. You try very hard to understand the logics and memories stuff.

Focus2!

You'll get into thinking games. sometimes you think so hard about what you're studying. But sometimes you just got lost in the way. Berangan lah kate org. Agak2 tanak bg kantoi roomate ko tgh berangan buat2 la mcm tgh pikir something cool n den buat suare mcm "aaaaah paham dah"
hmmm...
oooooooooh!

But after sometime...maybe about 1-2 hours of focus, it'll get pretty boring and loose your attention

Your eyes get a little droozy. bit by bit

Slowly your eyelids drag you bit by bit..heart pumping slow, your head whispers to you "sleep boy...sleep, we'll go to that nice meadow full of beautiful flowers and lie down there with a pretty angel"

Until you can't take it anymore and your eyes gave up.

There goes.....its a wonderful world in the dreamland

Ok now. What will you do at times like this? You have two options whether to let go and straight to lalaland or you can resist and fight the sleepiness. Of course you many of you will choose to fight on am I right? and what better way to stay up then to make a good ol' mug of hot and steamy nescafe'.haha let the caffeine run through your veins and you'll be up and ready again.

Its the usual neslo for me. 1 sachet of milo wif 1/2 sachet of nescafe wud do the trick

Well ok now you have a mug of nescafe, your up and awake. so now you would probably look like this

Its good. you are now pumped up again and ready to blaze ahead through the night. So now onto the next stage of studying. The next stage is well... is the state where most people go through, after enduring long hours of studying, plus the excruciatingly painful hours of memorizing and understanding...

Let the pictures do the talking

Trying very hard to understand at the same time the effects of caffeine starts to rub in

At some point, you feel too much of a headache and your brain is too saturated of studying that you cant take it anymore. otak dah tepu gile babi pnye ah. you'll feel nauseated and rase cam nk muntah pn ade.

This story is told by my friend azam. I never experience something like this before, but he told me that he was so sick of studying that he felt like puking

So there you go. I bet most of you look the same while studying right? haha..I know most of you guys are in their finals right now so good luck, and don't get stress out studying. Every people have their own techniques therefore do what you do best. Sleep is for losers!

p/s: this post was supposed to be posted exactly 24 hours before because of stupid writer's bloc I can only finish my writing today, so i actually have paper tomorrow. good luck to me!hoho

A matter of principles

Something that my friend said just now struck me.

"Ko memamg dari dulu camni. Asik berubah2 je thinking ko nih. Tak ade prinsip yang tetap. A good leader must have strong principles. Contoh kalau aku jd follower ko, aku akan tetap ikut ko even kalau ko salah."
Perbualan ini berlaku selepas aku decide nk duduk K11 instead of KTGB. A matter of deciding which college to stay next semester.

This got me in deep thinking. Do I not have strong principles, stand strong on my belief?  I have always thought that I have the made certain principles in my life, and I never turn my back on them.

I guess after what my friend said, I realise that I tend to bend the rules, a bit TOO much. I always had a layback thinking. Flexible is what I call it. But this leads to low class mentality. Yes and I just realise that. I mean, Its good to be flexible. At least, every decision I made, will have last minute call. I dont have to make that decision on the spot. Because I tend to change my mind for the last minute as I always consider the boon and bane of everything.

But back to what he said,  yes I do consider that I'm not a man with principles myself. Macam lalang org kate. Kejap ko pikir camni, last2 ko pikir lain plak. Sigh. I've got to change. I have a whole world coming to me just yet. A long journey to go through. Decision making is the most important thing in my life after this as an engineer and a future Board of Directors of some company. Hancur company aku kalau aku tak berubah gini. I have to learn to stick with my guns and set rules in my life.

I am a future leader of this country. And I strive to do the best for myself, my family and to my country

"Oh Allah, make me a good leader, make me a leader who have strong belief and principles. Especially in terms of your religion. Guide me to become Soleh Muslim leader oh Allah."

p/s: The first step of change is that you recognize and accept your weakness. Then, its all action oriented. Have you had your muhasabah session with your self today? ;p

A little less friendly

as of 1600 hours, 05 April 2010

Hmm...am I a just another snobby teenager who doesn't like to be friend with others or am I just plain curious....

WHO D HELL ARE YOU GUYS??

Dont get me wrong. I like expanding my networks. I love to make friends. But dontcha think that this is just a lil bit too exaggerating of your popularity? I mean, I dont think that I have the slightest idea who are 1/7 of these so called "friends"

Whats the point of adding friends if you dont even bother to know who they are and have no connection with each other? At least some people add friends because they got one or two mutual friends thats fine. They can relate with each other and maybe share stories about that mutual friend. Maybe studies in the same college that is also good. Its networking. But what are we gonna do with these people who randomly adds people and then have no idea what to do next? You dont know who they are, and then have no plans at all to get to know you then whats the point?

Technology does mess up the whole idea of being friends. lets go back to the good ol days! =)

Hurm... gotta go through "spring cleaning" of friend list. huhu

p/s: blame it on the testosterones. a horde of the "I dont know who" are females who just loved adding me as their FB friends. the cute ones I add la. huhu. True story.
p/s/s: Ini bukan cubaan utk mencapap. jus another story to share. True story.
p/s/s/s: Anis, sape lg HOT skang?hoho

Dont judge a book by its cover

Selamat pagi, salam 1Malaysia

Perkara yang dilakukan jelas salah (even if we think we're doing it right doent make it less evil).

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

Justeru, 'we can judge a book by its cover in certain cases' iaitu apabila perkara asas Islam dilanggar, maka sudah tentu ‘that cover is reflecting what's inside the heart of a person'.

Always look on the positive aspect in everything. "husnuzon" bak kate pepatah

Alhamdulillah

1) Alhamdulillah, praise be to god almighty, for he has given us sufficient wealth, health and the will to live on.

2) Alhamdulillah, setel dah internship hunting aku. For now just have to prepare mentally, physically and equip myself the urge to learn and gain experience. Agak chuak thinking of the days that lies ahead, cos cant expect at all what will happen, how will I act n such, but like ppl always said, just be yourself and you'll be just fine.*or am I?* sometimes ppl say dat being myself is kinda annoying. haha. Scomi here I come!

3) Alhamdulillah, setel dah 1st stage Final Year Project aku, that is finding a supervisor lecturer. Thanks Prof. Dr. Nawi Derahman for accepting me as one of the three students you choose to supervise. You have always been like a father figure for me since my first class with you during my 1st year. I look up to you sir, and always feel jealous of how you've lived your life. How I wish I can imitate you in any way, the way you talk, the way you made british jokes, the way you can intelligently discuss on anything.

For now, I just have to learn reservoir simulation and the Eclipse software. It is something totally alien to me, but I have to struggle extra hard to achieve taht success.*tu la sape suroh gatal sgt nk wat simulation. org len wat lab kan sng ngeng!* but it is my choice to do something unique rather than ordinary.

4) So now, there is only one thing left before i proceed to those things. Finals!

6/4 Petroleum Geology
7/4 Writing for Specific Purposes
9/4 Well Completion
14/4 Gas Engineering
17/4 Production Engineering
20/4 Evaluation and Management of Petroleum Projects

5 papers in 2 weeks and loads of chapters to cover. Good luck 3-SKPians. May the force be with you!

"Oh Allah, make me a better man. Make me a better fighter. For I let the outcome to your own judgement, least I struggle and make the best out of everything. Make me hunger for knowledge, and equip me with the appropriate skills to become a wise leader that bows for no other than you. Ameen"

Al-Fatihah

Not for awhile, we were shocked to receive a news that our funniest guy, Mior Ahmad Fuad Mior Badri, or famously known as Din Beramboi has been admitted to Hospital Selayang and in a state of coma.link.

Today, we are sadden to know that he has passed away at 12.30 am, Friday today. Alhamdulillah, the burial process was done smoothly at Taman Ehsan, Kepong.

As we express our grief for the the passing of this funny guy, I am raged to know that theres some irresponsible idiots who made postings about Din Beramboi's death on THURSDAY. Report Link. These kind of misfits should be put on jail for spreading false rumors. How can they be so insensitive towards the family members and fans of Din's to post something that is false. I mean, come on la. Check your sources before you post something! shame on this people! You only got so much of freedom of speech in this websphere to remember that there are things that called ethics, ground rules and common sense.

Din Beramboi, you will be remembered by many, as the man who made us laugh everytime you show yourself. ko tunjuk muke pn aku nk pecah perut dah. hoho. All his lawak bloody original i tell you. Damn I'll be missing you. May you rest in peace and placed among org2 yg terpilih disisi Nya.

As a tribute, I embed a video of Din Beramboi antics for your viewing pleasure. Its my favourite song all time! hoho enjoy!
